Vacation

Hi everyone,

Well, this marks almost two years since I've been called as the Primary Chorister. I really do love this calling...it has really lifted me up so many times, and I thank all of you for the kind comments you leave. They have really helped me.

Unfortunately, my family is going through some difficult stuff right now, and I feel that my time is really torn. I have decided to take a vacation from blogging for a while. I think I might even recycle some of my ideas....the thought kills me, but I must. If inspiration hits, I'll really try and post what I'm doing, but for now I think it would be best to take some weight off my shoulders in any way I can.

This happens to be post 101. If I were to guess, I think there are at least 95 different activities listed that could possibly help you. Some of my favorites were clear back at the beginning of this blog, so go and check it out.

I hope you'll forgive me. I hope miracles rain down and I'll be back before you know it. Just remember to have fun and love them...the rest comes from the spirit.

  4. Thank you for sharing your inspiration - and for recording them on this blog. It will bring you comfort and strength as you read your thoughts as your thoughts have lifted us up too. Focusing on what is most important is exactly how you are Choosing the Right Way ... now it is your time to choose your own adventure. May miracles rain down upon you and your family and lift you up. I know you are the wise man and your testimony is built upon a rock. The songs you have taught the Primary Children and leaders over the last 2 years have messages that have and still will strengthen you. The Primary Songs bring me great comfort and a sweet spirit into my life.

May our Heavenly Father and Savior bless you at this time and always. We'll be here waiting to hear that your storm clouds have lifted. We are here to support you too as you have been here for us!

    Hugs!

  20. I just was called to be the primary chorister in my ward. I cried for two days (I know that might have been a bit too dramatic) I was overwhelmed because I've never done anything like this and haven't been in primary since I was a child. So if this blog has at least 2 years worth of ideas, then I am feeling much better about things. Thanks for letting us use all your ideas!!! Take care.

  24. Hi Melanie,
I'm not even the Primary Chorister in my ward (although I sub as chorister about every other month), but I just wanted you to know how inspired I've been by your attitude towards your calling. You clearly have such enthusiasm and dedication, and I have tried to apply your wonderful attitude to my recent callings in RS, Nursery, and Activity Days. I am always delighted to read about the creative and uplifting ideas you come up with, but I am more inspired by the spirit you bring to those activities. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your talents with so many, and I think you should take off as much time as your you and your family need right now and not feel bad at all. Nothing is more important than what we do within the walls of our own homes, and I pray that you will find peace and happiness in yours.
    Thank you again,
    Amy Weech

  25. I, too, want to tell you what an inspiration you are to all of us less creative, if still crazy, choristers! I also want to add my sincere thanks to you for an idea from a couple of months ago not even related to Primary. You mentioned that you were correlating your scripture study with the Preach My Gospel manual. As I was just getting ready to start a new round of scripture study I decided to try your idea. What a wonderful experience I have had! I'm anxious to get up every morning and study and I have learned more and feel more inspired than any other time I have searched and pondered the scriptures. You truly are inspired and I hope and pray that your trials will be supported by the Lord and you will get through them with His love and comfort. You will be in my prayers.

  29. You have been a huge help to me as a chorister, lifting my spirit and inspiring me to be a better chorister. I've just been called to be our RS president, so my life will be different now. But I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will also pray for you and your family, that you will be comforted and strengthened and helped. God bless you.

  31. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful thoughts and ideas. I have been the primary chorister for the past 5 years, and have turned to your blog so many times over the past 2 years for ideas and inspiration. You are certainly doing the right thing in putting your family first. I do not know you, but I will say a prayer for you. Miracles happen! I am just thinking about how your comments have helped me with this months song. "When Jesus was on earth he promised He would send the Holy Ghost to comfort us our true eternal friend." May you and your family feel the comfort of the Holy Ghost.
